Poem "Memory Holder"

Memory holder
By Elizabeth Parada

Your presence fades
Like smoke
To keep it close
I speak of you,
I think of you.
You may be gone
Yet live in me.
I’m a memory holder,
A memory keeper
A memory hoarder
A memory reaper
To catch your smile,
cradle it close,
Your silly thoughts
Your brilliant mind
To make you mine
Though you are gone
To keep you close
I speak of you,
I think of you.
You may be gone
Yet live in me.

I’m a memory holder.
